MLK Jr. Day, ChatGPT Tasks, National Championship Day
It's Monday! It's MLK Jr. Day! It's National Championship Day --> Jan 20, 2025
Happy Monday all! Hope you had an amazing weekend. I made a day trip to Tampa on Saturday and watched some football yesterday.
Today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day - a day we take time to remember one of our country's greatest leaders. Dr. King showed us that big changes don't just happen on their own - they happen when people work hard to make things better. This hits home for me today.
Tonight’s also National Championship time! Notre Dame and Ohio State — I’m pulling for the Fighting Irish. I love what this team stands for, from their grit to the leadership of Coach Marcus Freeman. His approach to the game and his players is refreshing and inspiring.
Who do you WANT to win tonight? Who do you THINK will win tonight?
It’s also ICE Barcelona 2025 week. I couldn’t physically attend this year’s event, but if you still want to catch up and talk shop — i’m open to it.
Did you attend this one?
What else could today be? Inauguration day for those interested in the political side of the world. Trump is back in office. Speaking of Trump, did anyone freak out for a day about the TikTok ban?
I’ve been wanting to do more content on TikTok but was waiting to see if this ban would stick. If it’s here to stay I may start doing some “Knup” content over there as well. No — not any dancing in the plans :)
Ok, lets get to the news…
Lets jump into the news for this Monday!

Word of the Day: Selfless
Today’s word is selfless. It’s all about putting others before yourself and doing what’s right, even if it doesn’t directly benefit you. On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, there’s no better word to reflect on. Dr. King showed us what it means to be selfless—fighting for equality and justice, not just for himself, but for everyone.
Being selfless doesn’t mean ignoring your needs. It means finding ways to lift others up and make a positive impact, no matter how big or small. Think about how you can be selfless today—help someone out, lend an ear, or just show kindness.
Let’s take that spirit into our daily lives. The world could always use more selflessness.
OpenAI recently introduced a beta feature called Tasks for ChatGPT, which allows users to schedule prompts for future execution. This new functionality is designed to bring ChatGPT closer to being a true virtual assistant by handling reminders, daily updates, and even complex tasks automatically. Sounds promising, right? Well, as I dove into testing, I found that while the potential is there, the execution still needs some work.
What Are ChatGPT Tasks?
ChatGPT Tasks let you schedule prompts to run at specific times. For example, you can set it to email you the weather at 8 AM daily or send a browser notification reminding you of an appointment. The feature is only available to paying users with ChatGPT Plus, Pro, or Enterprise accounts, and tasks can be managed through a browser interface.
To create a task, you simply type a command like, “Every day at 9 AM, summarize the latest sports news for me.” ChatGPT will run that command and notify you via email or browser when it’s ready. While this sounds straightforward, the results in practice can be hit-or-miss.
What Works and What Doesn’t
On the surface, ChatGPT Tasks seems like a good idea for automating repetitive tasks, but it has its quirks. For example, I tried scheduling a daily news summary and a weather report with extra flair, like generating a visual representation using DALL-E. While some tasks ran successfully, others either failed or provided inconsistent results.
One attempt at a weather task led to errors where the image wouldn't load, the temperature was wrong, or ChatGPT added unnecessary steps to the output. It felt like a frustrating game of trial and error to get it to follow instructions consistently. While OpenAI labels Tasks as beta, the unreliability can make it hard to trust for important reminders or detailed actions.
Knup's Take
Here’s my take on ChatGPT Tasks—it’s a cool idea, but it’s not quite ready for prime time. Right now, Tasks feels like a helpful feature for non-critical uses, like getting a daily joke or a quick weather update.
But for more complex or time-sensitive tasks, I wouldn’t bet on it just yet. There are too many inconsistencies, from delays in execution to outright failures in completing the scheduled prompts.
For now, if you’re experimenting with Tasks, keep your expectations in check. Start with simple prompts and be patient with the errors. After all, this is just the beginning, and we’re getting a glimpse of how AI might reshape our productivity tools in the future.

Let’s cut to the chase—Notre Dame +9 is the only play that makes sense here. While Ohio State has an elite defense and standout talent like freshman receiver Jeremiah Smith, Notre Dame’s own defense is no joke.
On offense, Notre Dame QB Riley Leonard gives them a chance to take advantage of the Buckeyes’ aggressive pass rush. Yes, missing left tackle Anthonie Knapp is a concern, but the Irish's ability to adapt under Freeman’s leadership has been impressive all season.
Ohio State might win this game (I hope not), but expecting them to cover a 9-point spread against a disciplined, well-coached Notre Dame squad feels overly optimistic. This game should be a slugfest, and I’ll happily back the Irish to keep it close and why not — pick them to win as a bonus bet.
Prediction: Notre Dame 24, Ohio State 20
PICK: Notre Dame +9 (bonus bet ND ML)
I bet the spread over at BetOpenly — a sick Peer to Peer betting app. Love that someone has to “take my bet” for it to go through.

Ever find yourself waiting on ChatGPT and wondering, “Why is this taking forever?” You’re not alone! While ChatGPT is a powerful tool, it can feel sluggish at times.
The truth is, there are several reasons why this happens—like high traffic, server limits, or even complex requests that take longer to process. Mondays are especially slow, with everyone jumping back into work and piling onto the platform at the same time.
The good news? There are ways to work around it. Planning your usage during off-peak hours—early mornings or late at night—can help you get faster responses.
Simplifying your requests or upgrading to ChatGPT Plus for priority access can also make a big difference. And don’t forget to check your own internet connection—it might not always be the tool’s fault!
What’s OpenAI doing about it? They’re working hard to improve things, from upgrading servers to developing faster, more efficient models. As AI continues to progress, we can expect better speeds and reliability in the future. Patience and planning go a long way, but OpenAI is constantly pushing to make slowdowns less of a problem.
